Hiya
Prob be a few months for MRI. Twitches have been bad lately and burning pain in feet, legs and back is horrendous at the mo. Just wish could get some relief from the burning pain. Am on Lyrica at the mo. Also have the feeling like am wearing wet soggy socks.
Thanks for the info, Gheko. Any idea when you'll get the MRI?
It occurs to me that it would be very very nice if our neuros could apply themselves to reaching consensus diagnoses!

Hiya
Haven't been diagnosed with anything as yet, had normal MRIs to date, normal EMG on right side only and normal LP (few years ago). Just had evoked potentials and awaiting MRI with contrast.
One neuro thinks MS, the other doesn't have a clue. My twitches can occur from my neck to my bum, just the left hand one that doesn't go away at all.
Hi gheko and I'm pleased to meet you!
I have no knowledge of this measure but Vickgupta has given you a great start.
What other tests/scans have you had?

your ck levels are well within the normal range which is anything from 24 to 320. as vickgupta said, elevated levels can be from any form of muscle breakdown, from a heart attack to muscular atrophy. it can also be a sign of acute renal failure.
the muscle twitches could be something called myoclonus which by itself isn't that much of an issue but usually it's a symptom of a much more serious neurological issue. even if they did the EMG on the hand that twitches it doesn't necessarily mean that you would get an answer. an EMG shows the electrical signals between nerves and if there's nothing wrong with the connection, i know that mine didn't show anything abnormal even though it was where i get the twitches.
take care
hi
according to my knowledge, CK(creatinine kinase) is usually released in blood from muscular metabolism. its level increases in myopathies(muscle diseases) ,muscular diseases. prolonged fatigue or exhausted bodyily muscles can also release this in the blood. so temporarily high ck level may be insignificant.
ur muscular twitches can also release ck in blood.
many more possibilities!!!!!
u hvnt mentioned ur disease here?
is this diagnosed?
best wishes!
