Limbolanders' appts this coming week (15th Mar...)

It occurred to me that several of us have appts this week. I know I'm going to totally lose the plot and forget who's is when and what!

So I'm just wondering if you'd kindly help me out by posting the dates etc here so that I can keep up?

Mine is MRI/MRAs on mon 15th - great way to start the week - is there anything I should be asking about e.g. the MRA contrast that they inject? Are we convinced it's safe? Will I turn green...?

Hi All
So the 22nd has passed and and i also had a ventriculargram as  the EYE pressures were normal, and the brain pressure was normalish.. So i had the scan and and yet again the cyst has filled up again and is partially blocking the 3rd and 4th ventricle,  the only option after alot of consideration to save  the sight thats left is to have neurosurgery and have a full shunt put in with a pathway from cyst to drain into the stomach cavity,,

Only had the cyst deflated / drained in Oct last year.. For it to close up and fill already is frustrating.. I had all within limits yesterday pressures.. Dont understand how that could be ? Dont have much faith in these results as i had such blurry vision yesterday..

This will hopefully give me A considerable less headache to live with..At least

Its keyhole as they say only 11 staples at the back of the head he he

So its PANADOL only until the 25th march,, going to be a long days the next few weeks..

Nope, don't remember doing anything to injure my shoulder, it just got more and more sore over a month or two period, and never got better. I do have some c-spine minor issues, but no c-spine lesions.

Thanks everyone...that's so helpful. And thanks for good wishes too - backatchoo in buckets!!

Binx - thanks for the hydration tip, I wouldn't have thought of that. Mother's little helper! hmmm...good thinking, I wonder if I have any hanging around the house...

Kris-tin - how did your lung function go? Blimey, surgery. Not a good prospect. Let's hope that neurosurgeon isn't scissor-happy.

Mike - I had that and 'sort of like frozen shoulder' (quoting GP!) for c.2yrs. The pain was indescribable - not the worst I;ve suffered but it just made me faint, I'm not at all a fainty person but this made me drop like a stone. Well weird. I read in a couple of c-spine papers that patients can present with 'frozen shoulder/rotator cuff' type pain and stiffness. For me all the dots fitted. Do you remember the actual injury?

Jibby - what migraine meds are you on? Some of them are really knockout, so I wonder if you'll find a swiftish improvement in cognition anyway?

...doesn't anyone have the 19th covered?!! Come on peeps - we can't let these neuros have an easy Friday!

Hi gang

Physiotherapy tuesday for a sprained rotator cuff. I don't know what I did but it's been bugging me for months. Nothing to do with neuro issues though, I don't think.

Good luck everyone with your tests and appointments...the life of a limbo lander......

Hiya!

I'm having Pulmonary (lung) function studies done, tommorrow, my appt with eye dr is also tomorrow and I have an endoscopy next thursday (18th).  I'll explain everything later!

My neuro followup was today. I do have several pinched nerves below my disc buldge which my neuro believes is the cause of my tingling/numbness symptoms.  Because the orthosurgeon does not agree, she referred me to a neurosurgeon who has "a better appreciation of nerves".  That appt is March 25.  There may be the possibility of a surgery discussion. This is , apparently, my month of Dr appts!!!

hi there,

i have my 2nd opinion neuro appointment at the university med ctr on 3/17 & an infectious disease specialist appointment on 3/18.  i'll certainly post updates.

sam:  i had an MRA done last april and there was some fine print in the consent paperwork that talked about the importance of drinking a lot of water post-procedure to assist in flushing the contrast fluid out of your system. ultimately, i think its diagnostic capacity outweighs the risks from what i understand.  i always find a mother's little helper makes such procedures more tolerable...  ;-)

jibby:  i think your timeline is really going to be helpful in helping you find your voice during your next appointment.  picture all of us standing behind you, supporting you during your appointment.

i'll be thinking of you both...

best wishes,
binx
