Hello Everyone.

My name is Victoria, I am a mother of two beautiful young girls and a wife of an amazing man who is being deployed in Sept. to Iraq.

Since May of this year I have been having constant problems with my balance, numbness, cognitive, speech, pain, spasms and tremors.  For the past 10 years or so I have gone to doctor to doctor with problems that I have already noted and bowel, eye shaking, sight loss, depression, stomach pressure and pain, nerve and muscle pain and so on.

Finally in June I went to a doctor here in Holland, MI and she thought maybe I had fibromyalgia.  She put me on neurontin in early June, at that time I was so focused on the pain I was having I didn't mention all my other symptoms.  Well in July my balance, sight and speech have gotten worse and I went back to my doctor.  She referred me to a neurologist to check for MS.  She also put me on cymbalta to try and help with some of the pain and tingling in my arms, legs and torso.

Well my pain has subsided a little bit and I am finally able to sleep more than 2 hours a night.  It is still there, but feels like the edge has subsided a little.  I am slurring my words, mixing up the order and just not talking right.  My husband keeps asking me if I am drunk because I sometimes can't walk straight or run into things a lot.  I thought I was just clumsy, but it's been happening more and more.

I also have a lot of weakness, sometimes I feel like I am going to fall because my legs will just quit, sometimes I can't even open a sippy cup and sometimes I am so tired I can't even talk.

So needless to say I am looking forward to my neuro appointment on August 10th more than I am my own birthday!!!

I am also in the MS forums, but I have not been diagnosed with anything yet.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and I hope everyone finds some answers and relief soon.

Victoria

sorry to hear that you guys had to join us here, what i can say is that this is one of the best places you can be if you're still searching for answers. it makes things just a tad bit easier just knowing that there are other people out there who know what you are going through and can relate to your problems.
hope that your appointments go well and that you get some answers soon
keep well

Welcome Victoria and pushingupdaisies!

I found this place a week or so ago and I have really appreciated the fact that people here can relate and understand what we are going through.

My neuro appointment is the 16th and I can't wait either!  It is very stressful waiting.

I can relate to forgetting the other symptoms, as the pain I have been experiencing is overwhelming sometimes.  I have used lists to make sure I convey everything to the doctor.  When I went to a doctor with a list once he was like, I can only address one thing and that other stuff is irrelevant.  I got very pissed off at him and said I am going to tell you everything and you as the doctor can decide what is important or not, needless to say I went to a different doctor....

Good luck and I hope you get answers!!  I am on edge waiting for mine.

Hello!  I am new tooand also am undiagnosed of anything. I too feel my problem is fibromyalgia related but my Doctor has referred me to a neurologist to check out my MRI results.  I know what you mean about focussing on one symptom that bothers you most and forgetting to mention the other stuff, it is frustrating because you can leave the doctors and suddenly remember something else which may be important.

Good luck for August 10th and I hope you get somewhere closer to finding out what is wrong. :-)
