Hi everyone.  My name is Kimberly and I have been having neuro symptoms off and on for almost 15 years.  I saw my first neurologist in 1996 and I have an appointment with a rheumatologist on the 18 of April.  I have seen allergists, internists, neurologists, and my gp.  My symptoms range from light muscle twitches to severe muscle spasms around the waist and rapid deterioration of my vision.  I am in constant pain in my joints and muscles.  I have had mri's done and while there have been some legions on my spine and brain, I was told that it was normal for my age which was 25 the first time, 32, 38, and 40.  Not sure if there are more each time because it has been different docs.  Most days I am able to do what is necessary but some days the fatigue and pain keep me in bed.  I am so hoping to get an accurate diagnosis.  At this point, my husband thinks I'm making things up and frankly I'm tired of dr's looking at me like it's all in my head!!  I know something is wrong, I just don't know what or how to fix it. I guess that's it for now.  Hope to hear and read about you all.

Hi Georgia.

Join the Club! Our Medical Model has become  dysfunctional, to say the least!
In a way, I'm thankful, that our so-called health care system, consistently failed me.
It led me to take health matters into my own hands.
I studied Holistic Health, Energy Medicine and Holistic Spiritual Psychotherapy.
And now I enjoy excellent health and so does my wife and so many people that
I have facilitated their healing. It has been extremely  rewarding!

Anyway, enough about me.
Yes I've heard about Ann Boroch. I don't know in detail about her work though.
The anti-candida diet theory for treating other disorders is logical.
Carbohydrates have become such a huge Negative factor in the last couple of decades.
The degrading of our soils with an alarming depletion of key nutrients - due to Industrial
Farming practices like monocropping and inferior cheaper chemical fertilizers- has resulted in producing  nutritionally "weaker" grains.
And this is not taking into account  genetically engineered farming practices.
On top of this, there're processes such as irradiation for longer storage, anti-molding chemical spraying, bleaching, the addition of artificial vitamins and it goes on and on.
Our digestive and gastro-intestinal systems are not designed to deal with all this.
The immune system gets information overload, in a desperate attempt to "understand"
what this is- among a mess of artificial or altered chemical substances that enter the body
continually.
The results are usually grave . Allergies, sensitivities, reactions and then drugs, side effects, more drugs. It becomes a very vicious cycle!
Grain consumption is implicated in oxidation in the body, leading to chronic inflammation
and consequently serious disease.
The same goes for all cooking oils except medium chain fatty acids like Coconut Oil
that remains stable in high temperatures. Also coconut oil it is Anti-Fungal!


Blood tests for candida are not reliable! Stool analysis or Saliva testing are more reliable to my opinion.

Dr. Mercola's whey powder-for glutathione production- seems good, however it is expensive! Mine costs $0.27 per serving! Of course there are other ingredients that they claim are the greatest thing for you. (Or not!)
That is called marketing. I couldn't get a complete breakdown of all the ingredients
when I had checked it out last time.
Undenatured whey powder is extremely delicate and sensitive to heat and vibration.
So no blender, no heat!  For efficient delivery of nutrients needed in glutathione production,
it is very specific.
I'll give you below some info that I got recently in an email, from a doctor that specializes in Reproductive Medicine. ( I also sent this info to Kimberly as it deals with serious disorders)

Glutathione and the JNK gene

Why do we have such a wide variety of mental disorders, autism, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, obesity, anxiety, stress, insomnia, hormone imbalance, bipolar disorder, cancer, diabetes, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, toxicity from heavy metals like mercury, lead etc., and other conditions in the 21st century? Is the only reason low levels of glutathione? Most of us do need to increase our glutathione levels, because of the above conditions, but is there a factor that is more underlying than glutathione?There is a gene in the body called the JNK gene that is the underlying problem with low levels of glutathione in all parts of the body, including the brain.

The JNK Gene

The JNK gene is a regulator type of gene and if it is too active or over stimulated, the JNK gene will allow the body to be flooded with toxins. The JNK gene is divided in 3 parts, JNK1, JNK 2 and JNK 3. JNJ 1 and JNK2 will affect all parts of the body except the brain and JNK 3 is a pathway activator of toxins to the brain.Several things will over activate the JNK gene. To name but a few things that over activate the JNK gene; antidepressants, heavy metals, processed foods, and viruses. If the JNK gene is over active, glutathione will need to work overtime and will be low in all parts of the body continually. If the JNK gene were balanced and no longer over stimulated, glutathione would have a chance to remain constant and handle the toxins in the body with ease once again.To make things a little more complex, low levels of glutathione will also stimulate the over activation of the JNK gene. This gives a compounding effect on the body regarding toxins. The goal should be to address the underlying cause of low glutathione levels and bring the JNK gene back in balance once again.

EFT. I have an Advanced Cert . There are 12 possible blocks to the EFT process.
In such cases, self administered EFT will not bring results.
I find that people with chronic conditions and or with anxiety and depression issues,
usually need the help of an EFT professional.

DMSO is very safe. 30-70% is better than higher strength and it works!
Test on a small area where you have inflammation and it hurts. Just rub it well.
It has an amazing penetrating capacity, and it goes right into the cells!
If you lack Vit B12  choose Methylocobalamin ( it's superior to cyanocobalamin) make it into powder and mix it with DMSO.
Apply it on your upper arms or shoulder or neck area. It will get delivered so fast, you will feel the difference shortly after.
The same procedure can be used for delivering anything sensitive, that doesn't get absorbed easily.
Caution: DMSO does emit an odor, so if any social engagements are planned,
best to avoid it at that time!
If you cannot find it easily, check with Veterinarian supply shops, pet pharmacies
or equestrian supply stores. DMSO is a fundamental race horse pain and inflammation remedy.  And it would be cheaper there as well!
Also popular with many athletes.

For easy meditation, purchase the Mantras for precarious times by Deva Premal
and chant along. It's an inexpensive download. For the C.D it's $10.00 or less, I believe.
Just do a search.
Or get a binaural C.D. for meditation and just listen to the sound. ( Usually alpha or theta)
There are specific ones available for healing, for abundance, relationships etc.

Nice "meeting" you Georgia.
You seem to be on the right track.
(You just need to fine tune some details and
set your objectives and intentions at a higher
priority level.)

There are other deeper and more fundamental approaches,
at higher energy levels, that I did not explore, as this is not the
appropriate "community".
You can let me know- along with anyone else
that might be interested- in the the Psychological and Spiritual
structures within serious and chronic disease and Healing.
And we can have this exchange at a different section of this forum.

Thank you so much for such an informative post.  I am so into natural healing.  "Modern medicine" has not helped me and in fact I blame it for my present condition.

I have autoimmune neuropathy.  It started after treatment for H-pylori.  It was called Prev-Pak.
(amoxicillin, biaxin and prevacid).  14 days of misery.  I should have stopped but I was determined to get rid of the H-pylori.  

Prior to that I had a steroid epidural for shingles down the left sciatic nerve.  Unbelievable pain.

That was well over 2 years ago and although I have improved very slowly it is defenitely not gone.

So I think the combo of those two treatments caused a candida imbalance.  I did the Candida saliva test and it looked positive but I don't know how scientific it is.  I could not get much cooperation from my doctors and none prescribed an antifungal.  They all just said my immune system was messed up.  I did have a blood test for candida that came back negative.

I have pain from my scalp to my feet and everywhere in between.  Vertigo and double vision which has improved alot.  I still get internal vibrating and buzzing on my scalp which drives me crazy.  But all in all I am much better than 2 years ago.  I so want to be "normal" again.

I have not strictly followed a candida diet but I don't eat anything sweet anymore.  Also no milk products.

I have a book by Ann Boroch who claims to have cured herself of MS by following a candida diet.  Are you familiar with her work?

I use whey protein from Dr. Mercola. I don't know if it is undenatured.
I take Theralac and TruFlora.  I use coconut oil but not strictly.  I have a spray of magnesium chloride which I will start using again.

I have heard of the 7-2-7 breathing technique and will try it.

Was disappointed with EFT.

I can't seem to get with meditation....can't relax enough.  Anxiety is a big part of this.

DMSO?  Is it safe?  How to take?

Welcome to the forum.
I'll offer you some suggestions in an attempt to help you feel much better!

1. Avoid all grains. Your carbs should ideally come from vegetables only.
  It's tough for people that love their grains, but the reward could be better health and less pain and suffering!
Please check Dr. Coca's Pulse test (free download book and self test)
It tests anything ingested for intolerances and allergies.
Also do a Candida Saliva Test. Do a search for that.
If positive ( the test is very fast) you need to go on a candida diet immediately.

2. Eliminate all cooking oils. They are  pro-inflammatory!
   I use exclusively Extra Vigin Organic Coconut Oil for cooking and Extra Vigin Organic  
      Olive Oil for salads or to drizzle over  vegetables. Go to the Coconut Research Center
   website to read about the amazing health benefits of EVCO. A must for everyone.

3.  Incorporate Undenatured Whey in your diet. It is one of the few ways to help your body
produce Glutathione. Glutathione is the Major Anti-oxidant that our body manufactures.
However it is in very short supply because it  lacks the ingredients to  produce what we need. When was the last time you heard of someone consume raw milk, raw eggs or raw milk? Those are the best sources and Undenatured Whey Protein Powder.
There are not too many places selling this powder. Make sure it is verifiably undenatured!
Otherwise not only it will not help but it may contribute to other issues.
Glutathione also recycles other anti-oxidants after their work is done, rendering them safe and useful again.
That is a huge benefit, since you're not stressing the body with "used" anti-oxidants
that have an oxidizing effect. Also you don't need to take mega doses of Vitamin C or E
anymore.
There are too many positive health benefits with taking Undenatured Whey Powder.
Please do a search and find out for yourself.
I buy mine wholesale from Nutriteck in Quebec, as it could get rather expensive.
You don't need fancy brands with added ingredients. They won't work any better and they"ll cost a lot more.
Do not mix the powder in the blender or with anything hot. This is very important for safe and efficient delivery to all your cells in your body.
( This has been miraculous for people suffering from fibromyalgia- I have a couple friends who have it- or chronic fatigue syndrome)

4. Magnesium Chloride flakes. make a 50/50 solution ( called magnesium oil) with  filtered hot water, wait till cool and put in a spray bottle and spray on your skin and massage well.
wait 20 -30 min. and then shower. Repeat twice a week. That's transdermal Magnesium . The best form and the best way to get it. Your skin will utilize what it needs.
It is an extremely valuable mineral. It is used in 400 processes in the body  and most people have a deficiency. Blood tests won't show a deficiency as only 1% of mg is found in the blood

5. Research DMSO. It is not available in stores unless you go to a Veterinarian or Equestrian supply shop. It is an amazing remedy to use topically for pain. Works much better than most painkillers without the side effects. The only side effect is the odor it emits. It is also a powerful antioxidant, free radical scavenger and more. You wonder why FDA and Health Canada have  approved it  for only one  heath condition.
It is huge in Europe and easily available.
It builds up the white blood cells, stimulates the immune system and is anti-inflammatory.
It is also an excellent carrier and it's one of the few things that can go through cell membrane ( excellent for B12 or- other elements- delivery straight into the cells)
Let me know if you need more details on this topic, as this is extremely specific!

6. Look into Prebiotics and Probiotics. 70-80% of your immune system is in the gut.
  Only the best quality will work well. Cheap dept store or pharmacy brands are a waste of money, I think. Minimum count 50-60 billion and 5-7 human strain bacteria- the kind that need refrigeration.

7. Apple cider Vinegar Organic, raw and unfiltered 1T before meals.

8. Follow an Alkaline diet as much as possible. Pain and illness thrive in acidic enviroments. The more alkaline the less pain and disease stick around the body!

9. Do deep -from the diaphragm- conscious breathing-,  inhale for 7" through the nose and
hold for 2",  exhale for 7" through the mouth. Do for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Repeat many times throughout the day, every day.

10. Do some physical activity, as much as your condition allows you, without pushing
or overexerting yourself. A daily long walk, if you can, will suffice.

11. Destress! Do eft/tapping. Free basic manual download. Just do a search.
Do not underestimate the emotional component of physical illness.

12. Meditate . If unable, get a CD or try Mantra Chanting. Look it up.( I love Deva Premal's
Mantras for Precarious Times.)
Daily for 30 minutes will do you wonders!

And that's my top 12 suggestions. Please research all this well on your own.
Do not take my word for it. I personally use all of the above, my family,
many friends and colleagues as well, and with mostly excellent results.

Have they ever thought of fibromyalgia? This is so underrated as a disease and can cause neurological problems, muscles twitches, pain in the muscles, joint pain, and fatique.

My friend has this and she is so ill with it now they are taking her into a special clinic for 3 weeks to try to stablise her.....

The pain in fibromyalgia is terrible.

Doctors are so ignorant over this disease. It can impact on the nervous system too.

I sometimes wonder if I have this but was told no....but sometimes I am just not convinced.

My friend went to see the specialist in fibromyalgia in Bristol and she told her it is one of the most underatted diseases this century. Like I said my friend is so ill with it now she has to be rehabilitated, she is sick all the time and can hardly eat. Its all to do with the disease.

Anyway its worth looking at.

I have been in limbo for nearly 5 years its pants.

I am so sorry you have been dealing with your issues for so long. There are many members who are in the same boat. I have been in limbo for about 2 years and can only imagine. It is tough to get people to understand.  I hope your upcoming appt. is helpful..Have you ever seen another nuero?
