brain lesion's
hi I have a friend he has brain lesions his left side is weak he can't walk, we have been to many doctors have had many test, been to the mayo clinic they said they did every test they can think of but they still don't know what's wrong with him, it's going on a year now one day he was fine the next day he had problems talking and he started getting weak, he's had three brain biopsy's still they can not fine out whats wrong. need to find a doctor that will look further in to it not just give up on him like they all did.
I have done that took him to the er but still they just send him back. I don't know where else to look for doctors. he's going down hill and the doctors just don't care it's so hard for me to see this. help!!!
I think what Niko has posted well if you can find someone like this would make sense.

I am so sad. He is giving up basically can you blame him.
I would steal him out of the home and take him to emergency hospital to get him checked out...this just cant be right he is undiagnosed.

Sorry to butt in as you addressed to MrsAristotle, however I feel so bad
for your friend, I felt compelled to reply.
These Doctors are usually a cut above the rest. I'm confident that should you be able to contact them, they would easily offer to help him, without any hesitation at all. Back home(in Greece) I have Doctors of the World as tenants, and honestly they have inspired me greatly by their amazing compassion and commitment to their patients.
No comparison to any other Doctor I have ever come across!
The only thing is that if you can pursue this, it has to be done in elegant manner - perhaps in a different location so it does not create any animosity
or make the other "uncaring" Doctors look bad, because of this interference, if you may want to call it.
I hope and pray that something good is going to take place.

he really seems to be getting weaker. I can't even understand what he's saying anymore his speach is so bad now, what really makes me so made is not one doctor will do anything to help him, it's gettin so hard for me to see him like this. why why won't these doctors help him.

not good his back hurts they think he has an infection bladder infection, but his back hurts so bad, he does have an appt. monday with the doctor that fixed his back. i just wish things would get better for him. I hate to see him in pain.

well i am working on getting him home, hate that nursing home. still trying to get him seen at the u of m in minnesota i just hope they see him. this is unheard of why would any doctor just give up. and i am going to fill out the forms and thank you if i do need help I will let you know im sure i will. but any ways he's doing about the same but he said his back hurts but they just seem like they don't care. i amabout to blow up on all of them in that nursing home they are heartless people.

This is sooooooo horrible! I wish I had some advice for you or knew what to do, but I don't. :( Can you go to the medical board in your state and file a complaint? I would! File a complaint against the doctor/doctors, the nursing staff, the hospital, the nursing home, etc. You can do this easily online, at least in Wisconsin you can.
Do a search online for the Minnesota state licensing board. At the very least if you file a complaint with the hospital, nursing home, and clinic, the state inspectors will have an unannouced audit. They do this in Wisconsin and I can't imagine it would be all that different one state away.
I would also ask to speak to the hospital administrators as well. Tell them you are very dissatisfied with their services. You are looking for answers and they keep dismissing you! If he is worse off than you expect, they NEED to tell you! It is NOT optional!!!! This is part of their job and they are abandoning their patient, which is against their hippocratic oath!
You could file a lawsuit because of patient abandonment. In Wisconsin, you can lose your license for this. This is one of the first things that was beat into our heads in nursing school. NEVER abandon your patients! This can bring serious implications! I am not saying you should file a lawsuit, just that it is optional.

really they did not tell me much, the doctor called me on the phone and she was talking like she didn't know what to say i do think they know something but all the doctors stick togather. he was taken to the hospital because he was getting weaker and his speeh is so bad i can't understand him. I did call his sister and told her if she cares about her brother she needs to come and see him. now she wants to help she should of been helping long ago now it might be to late, if somethime is not done soon I don't think he's going to make it.

well another dead end they would not do any test they released him from the hospital and said there is nothing they can do. they also said thing in front of him that i don't think they should of, they are just going to let him get worse and not do anything and now he is so depressed because they brought up dying I am so mad about the way they handle things and made him feel real depressed. they would not even test for anything i told them too.
Oh bless I am so sorry to hear he is worse. Maybe now though whilst he is in he will get some answers. I just feel so bad for you both. I am glad you got the test. I am sure it is to do with his job I have done lots of reading since and it all just seems to fit, BUT then it might be way off base.
Let me know how he gets on in hospital. I do think about you both a lot wondering how he is.

hi I did get the test sorry but my labtop charger sparked out so no computer for a while. well i just got the test a couble days ago but my friend has got worse he's in the hospital as of yesturday, i did tell them he needs to be tested for manganese from welding, if they say no then i going to the hospital with the test kit in hand.

and also didn't tell worst of it, when I told the doctors about the welding and chemicals at his job, the doctor replied oh it's money like we only care about money. i told him i don't care about money i just want answers. how dare he say that that is the last thing on our minds.
Hi still so depressed this morning all i want is for one doctor to take his case, a doctor that cares. I live in st. paul minnesota. i really can't afford much trying to not lose the house but it looks like he will, I can't make the payments much longer by myself along with all the other bills.
