If its his decision then yes its his right. He doesn't sound like he has the ability to raise children well in his lack of ability to relate to people that you stated but that can often be part of schizophrenia. His future wife should certainly be aware of it but he should disclose it to her himself. If he still has that much trouble relating to people and is sleeping that much then perhaps his medications need updating. You could speak to his psychiatrist about that. I myself have made a full recovery from schizoaffective disorder but the treatment is still in Phase II FDA study but with many currently available treatments he should be able to feel more stable than he is.
