mother -in-law ?

I have been married eight years to a wonderful man, my problem is his mother. The whole family is scared of her. I 've
witnessed her having a delusion once, she has admitted when she was younger she heard voices. What has gotton me concerned is that , when she is mad , it is an explosive experience. She punches and kicks the walls, screams.
then when it is over ,she acts like nothing happened. One time she flipped out on me, and then could'nt remember what she said after. She is a compusive shopper, very impulsive, and she always has digestive problems. My husbands aunts have informed me that their mother was a schizophenic. ( my mother in-laws- mother ). My concern is for my husband and children? I've read that this heridatary ? Is my family at risk for this disease?

I am one of four kids of schizophrenic man, none of us have it we are all very together and caring people. between us (we are in our 40's) we have 10 kids all fine in their teenage years now.
Try not to worry about them, it is a bit out of your control anyway, what can we do?
