Cimetidine to treat symptoms of herpes zoster

Can Tagamet (cimetidine) be used safely to treat herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia?

Tagament is a stomach acid reducing medication, not a pill for treating herpes zoster or neuralgia.  Check with your doctor for the proper medication for those conditions.
