Do seniors use the internet for health concerns?

I am a grad student who is curious about if seniors use the Internet to; access health information, access their health care options or insurance, or refill prescriptions, or make doctor appointments?  If you have done any of the following and would be willing to fill out a short (1 pg) anonymous questionnaire, please contact me.  Your insight will contribute to a study about how to better design health oriented internet sites for seniors.

Seniors do seek help of internet for various health problem. If the symptoms are clear cut indicating a standard well known disease they do not come to internet as the doctor's aid is enough.But when there are problems which are unique and not well defined and having no clue for diagnosis,they come to internet to find out whether their symptoms are unique or they are with other people as well.

I am 68 years old and I have used the internet for over 10 years searching for clues about unusual symptoms my husband suffered from and strange things that are currently happening to me.  These are things that family doctors don't appear to have info on.  More than anything the info I have found allows me to formulate intelligent questions from specialists and at times to even steer me in the direction of the kind of specialist needed.  Prior to having the internet I spent hours in libraries looking for answers.

yes i am 71 and find the internet very helpfull. it takes me time to get what i am looking for but i am in no hurry. my daughter got me to use it and i was very slow at first. but i am getting there. and its given me a new out look on life.
