My grandfather's hip femur head get fractured and doctor replaced hip socket and ball or femur head with some rod inserted inside bone also, as he was on bed so he get deep bed sores, therefore he was unable to sit or stand. After six months of nursing at home bedsores were however recovered 85 percent. But due to complete bed rest his legs could not be done straight and are very painful if we pressure to open straight. he tells us below the knee the tendons are stiff and tight and painful. What should i do he is unable to stand also as his both legs could not be done straight pls reply on ***@**** or at ***@****
If possible, you should seek to have your grandfather admitted to a rehabilitative nursing home.
These places administer daily rehab therapy.
Unfortunately the criterion for admission are strict, and it may not be possible to get in to one.
The best thing to do is to have him admitted to such a facility, visit him daily, and pay for supplementary therapy with an aide who will be with him in addition to that provided by the home. Sometimes they go along with. Sometimes not.
The dfuties of this aide will be to be with him during the therapy, learn the exercises, and when he returns home assist him.
Bed sores are avoided by a special mattress that inflates and deflates. Ask your physician.
