Am I peeing, or is this normal?

by Apple457, Jan 05, 2009 10:40PM
When I stimulate my clitoris and I enjoy it a lot, fluid comes out of the hole above my vagina. Is it possible for fluid to come out of this place when I am aroused and it NOT be urine?

I tasted it and it tastes different, a bit saltier, than my normal wetness during sex. Also, when I am only having intercourse without clitoral stimulation this does not happen.

I am young and have not had children and I rarely have bladder control issues, although I have peed during laughter a few times and once when I sneezed and my bladder was very full. Please help me understand what is happening, it is very embarassing and making me worry about sex!

Some women ejaculate during orgasm. There is some disagreement among the medical community regarding what this fluid is. The problem is, the fluid comes out of the urethra, the same opening that urine comes out. (For those unfamiliar with female anatomy, the urethra is located between the vagina nd the clitoris). In some the fluid simply leaks out and is seldom noticed. For others, a straight stream similar to a urine stream can happen. Up to 15 oz. of fluid has been reported.

Some studies have been done on the fluid to determine if the fluid is urine or something else. Most of these concluded that it is not urine. It contains less levels of urea than urine and also contains higher levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA), whci is produced by the male prostate. This has lead researchers to describe what is referred to as the "female prostate." They maintain that females have similar tissue to the male prostate located around the urethra (the tube that urine passes through). Remember, both sexes develop from the same form, the same cells become the clitoris in females and the penis in males, vulva in females and scrotum in males, etc. So, it would stand to reason that females have at least some tissue that evolved into the prostate in males. The theory is that during orgasm this tissue releases the fluid which is then ejaculated from the urethra. It's generally thought that clitoral stimulation is required for this, but I've also heard from women who experience it from G-spot stimulation.

Having said all that, it's also possible that it is urine. That's what leads to the debate over whether or not it actually exists. It can really only be verified by chemical analysis. You mentioned that you tasted it and it tasted somewhat salty. I'm betting that it did not taste as salty as urine would. It is also probably much clearer than urine (i.e. not yellow).

Since there is so much controversy over the issue it's difficult to say how many women experience it but it has been reported as high as 25%. If you're among them, congratulations.
