Your doctor will test to see WHAT KIND OF BACTERIA is present in order to know WHAT KIND OF ANTIBIOTIC to use
I don't know what bacteria it is and generally they don't really tell you much other then it is a bacterial infection. There are several causes for bacterial infections. One is if you wipe back to front, and some can come from sex acts themselves. For instance if you have anal sex either by hand or by toys, you should never go from anus to vagina because bacteria breeds in your bowls and can be tranmitted. What my doctor said that along with the other things I mentioned, wear only cotton crotch underware, keep your vaginal area as dry as possible, she suggest you blow dry your vaginal area after you shower, and do not wear panty liners all the time. Hope this helps.
okay thank you. I was also wondering if they will know (if it is a bacterical infection) what caused it? Like what kind of bacteria?
Or will they give the regualr precautions like loose breathable clothing, wipe front to back etc.
Just so this doesn't happen again.
I second jml's advice. Self-medicating might make it better, but there's a good chance it could also make the infection worse (depending on what you decide to use, and what infection you really have). See your doctor.
You need a test to determine for sure it is a bacterial infection and not a yeast infection. You can by an over the counter test that can tell you, but if it is bacterial, the doctor will do another test and then put you on antibiotics. So, I say, save your money and just let the doctor check you out.
