Balanitis Trouble

Balanitis Trouble

Sorry if this is lengthy, but I am having quite the trouble with my penis glans (glands) and it causing me considerable stress. Around the middle of April after unprotected sex I noticed a couple of red dots on my penis head, with dryness and cracks. (Got checked for all common STD's and all came back negative, same with the girl I was with). My GP said it visibly looked like nothing and said to leave it alone. I did, and it got worse. So she swabbed for yeast, and prescribed Canesten topical for a week, and that made symptoms subside, but then they reappeared a week later. (The yeast test was negative). A different doctor prescribed Ketoderm/Hydrocortisone 0.5% and that did the same, but following the prescribed amount of 2 weeks the symptoms reappeared.  Then I saw a urologist for an unrelated matter in May (epidydimitis) and he said it was absolutely nothing to worry about, it would clear up, and I could soak it once or twice daily if I wished. So I did soak it, and it only somewhat helped, but it continued to linger. This has been going on ever since, and it is not going away. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be or how long this typically lingers? Thank you kindly in advance!

So, it sounds like you need to see someone other than a GP.  Ask your GP to recommend a specialist, or ask your health care provider for one.  An STD specialist or a dermatologist will do.

Sounds like you don't have a common STD, do they have open sores?  Do they hurt when you masturbate or have sex?  Have you noticed other parts of your body getting the redness / dots?  Any discharge or unusual things on your penis besides this?

They aren't open sores, and they aren't painful, and only slightly itchy at times.
No discharge whatsoever, or pain urinating. It's really becoming quite a problem. I am due to see my urologist in a week's time for epididymitis follow-up, so I will ask him again, or ask to be referred to a dermatologist.

Just saw my urologist: he once again said it looks like nothing out of the ordinary, and if it continues to linger from month-to-month I could consider a circumcision. This is NOT an avenue I wish to pursue, does anyone have any suggestions of creams or have any experience/advice with balanitis problems?
