Brown spotting?

So at the beginning of last month, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time when he was on military leave. I haven't had sex prior to that in a couple years. I am 19 years old. We had sex a few times over the course of a week and literally minutes after the first time I had brown mucus-y spotting. It continued through my period. (I am on birth control. Apri to be specific) I didn't get a normal period, just the spotting for that whole week of my period. Then the spotting stopped, up until about 2 days ago it started again and I am supposed to get my period today according to my pills. I haven't, just the spotting. I am very careful with my pills, and I hadn't been on birth control ever up until about 3 months before he came home. I guess my question is, is this normal? I'm freaking out because all over the internet it says brown spotting is an early sign of pregnancy. But it really doesn't seem that possible..

It could be Pregnancy but Brown means old blood so I think its because of the pill u are on ...u need to let ur Dr kno what's going on so they can do a pelvic exam which would rule out pregnancy an possibly change your bc pills ..its not too uncommon to have break through bleeding while on bc pills ..good luck :)
