Oct 04, 2014 (yesterday) on this forum headed "std risk" you wrote saying that you got your test results showing positive for chlamydia gonorrhea and herpes from unprotected oral sex.
Gonorrhea is caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and it can be spread by oral, vaginal, or anal sex. It can also be passed from a mother to her child during a vaginal delivery.
Herpes is a sexually transmitted viral infection is highly contagious, spreading via vaginal or anal intercourse, and through oral sex.
Chlamydia is normally passed on though sexual activity with someone who has it. The bacteria can thrive in various regions of the body including the penis, vagina, anus, and throat so unprotected contact with any of these areas may lead to infection.
Chlamydia does not always present itself with early symptoms and because of this it is often difficult to tell whether you are infected.
Some early symptoms can be burning or painful sensation when urinating for men and women. Women may get a discharge or a "mucus" coming out of the vagina, back pain, unusual pain during sex and bleeding between periods. Men may get a discharge or "mucus" coming out of the penis, inflamed or swollen testicles and/or discomfort around the tip of the penis.
So the answer to your question is: If you have not received the correct treatment and waited to complete the treatment, did still have a sore on your penis, it is highly likely that your wife may now be contaminated.
The discharge from your penis may still be due to one of the above, or a different infection. No doubt your doctor will take a swab to find out what the cause is and treat you accordingly.
If the results come out positive for the std, you are going to have to face up to the fact that you need to tell you wife that she may be contaminated and will need to be checked out and treated too.
Even if she does not get any symptoms, which can happen with Chlamydia, it can still ruin her chances of getting pregnant in the future.
Here is another question
When returning home I refrained from having sexual inter corse with my wife
However my penis did come into contact with her vagina and she did she my penis. How ever she did not insert it into her mouth
I gave her oral sex
I have either chlamyda or gon. As symptons are discharge (going to dr tomorrow)
What are the chances she has got something from me
You have got a urinary tract infection, more than likely in the bladder called Cystitis.
Is there a medic on the boat that you can see with regard to getting an antibiotic for a urinary infection?
If not, ask the cooks if they can give you a small tub of Bicarbonate of Soda. Place a teaspoonful into a large glass of water and drink this. You can do this 3 times with an hour in between each drink.
Alternatively, if there are any fresh lemons on the boat, you can squeeze out the juice and mix that with the water and drink that.
What the 2 options above do is to neutralise the acidity in the urine that is causing the discomfort in the bladder and when you pee.
Do make sure that you drink plenty of water. Yes, I know it is uncomfortable to pee, but by drinking more and peeing more, will help to flush out the bacteria that is causing you the discomfort.
You can take pain relief as directed on the packet to ease the discomfort, but this is only a pain relief and will not get rid of the bugs that are causing the problem.
I am sat now. After urinating and I feel a slight burning sensation in my urethra
Sorry for the question. I can't go to the doctor until next week as I'm on a boat
Can I be making my self bad from the guilt ?
Thanks for the reply. I have been on a course of cipro. Feel abit better.
What do you guys think it could be
It does sound like some infection. You can confirm this only bey tests. Consult a health care giver.
