Could I be pregnant?

by kentuckgirl07, Jan 12, 2009 11:47PM
I have been on birth control for a month now with no problems, taken an active pill every day like I am supposed and have never missed a pill.  My boyfriend and I always use condoms even though I'm on birth control, well On Jan. 11, we got carried away and didn't use one and he didn't pull out.  I took my last active pill the day before on Sat.  I'm supposed to start either thurs. or fri. of this week.  Could I be pregnant?  How likely is it that I am?

you have a chance. you have been on it for a month but i dont kno how long you have to be on it to really have it work. a month maybe two...im not sure but either way even if you have been on it for your whole life...its not 100% thats why you should always use condoms as well and good for you for mostly using condoms. so like i said..you have a chance but i would not say your chances are high. just wait and take a test

It is possible very possible because the pill makes you more fertal, why didn't you use a condom if for 11 months you have?  Don't be stupid right now enjoy your life before you have kids not that the ruin your life but things change and you grow up alot faster.

"the pill makes you more fertal (sic)" - what???  The whole point of the pill is to STOP you being fertile!  What are you talking about pain309?

No contraceptive is 100%, but the pill is pretty close.  Doctors do advise to use another form of protection just in case for the first couple of months (or at least they did to my wife, several years ago when she used the pill) to be on the safe side.  The chances that you are pregant are pretty small, but not zero.

Thank you so much for the advice, it has been helpful.  I've found out that I am not, and I've realized that everyone makes mistakes and we are not perfect all the time, my boyfriend and I will definitely be more careful next, things happen, you know.  Well, thanks again everyone!
