Female trouble

I'm healthy, young, and on Yasmin so my period is very regular and consistently on time with no breakthroughs. I haven't missed a pill or taken it a minute late all month but...
earlier I had sex and right in the middle I started spotting... I didn't think too much of it but once we were done, I noticed that I was bleeding like a light period flow with bright red blood (like from a cut, not like period blood).
Now that I think about it sex has always been a bit painful and I tend to bleed during/after sex. I know that's not normal and I intend to make an appointment with a gynecologist ASAP but I need some kind of answer please. I'm scared.

you could have an std that is causing cervicitis which will cause bleeding as you mentioned.  There are other causes of cervicitis too like Bacterial vaginosis and yeast if you have them for a long while untreated, but usually it is STD related--get checked and treated if needed

I saw this post & wanted to tell you that both pills *Yaz & *Yasmin have been recalled in most countries/states. It has caused numerous medical problems & killed an unnatural amount of younger girls aged 13-18. I'm not trying to scare you or upset anyone, i just feel like i needed to let you know asap. Please look into changing your birth control method! Good luck :)

ok I went to the doctor and it is my cervix that seems to be the problem. either my birth control or an infection (bacterial vaginosis) is causing the irritation/bleeding. either way my problem is curable and I'm so glad!

Please let us know what your Dr says. You're right, it could be that your cervix is irritated.

I really appreciate your suggestions and advice, but It's not a lubrication problem. I also get checked regularly (but I've been with 2 people ever so I highly doubt I'd get one) and I don't have any STDs but maybe there is something going on like my cervix being irritated but I'll have to wait until Monday to be sure >.<  waiting is killing me.
Thank you

If you've been doing well on this pill then it's most because you're not producing enough natural lubrication. You can buy something like KY Jelly at your drug store. It's one that I would recommend because it's water based and is used by so many couples. Don't use lotion, or anything like that because it could cause an infection.

That could be it... but since I've been over thinking it and scaring myself with the internet I just wonder why I only break through during sex.
I had breakthrough bleeding (not during sex) on another pill so I started this one and haven't had a problem with breaking through at any other time so that's why I'm so concerned that there's something wrong.

You can have breakthrough bleeding while on the pill. Did this happen before you started on any time of birth control pills though? If so, then the problem might be not enough natural lubrication. Have you and your boyfriend ever tried a lubricant to see if that helps?
