Herpes Other STDs and Masturbation

I work in a field that I deal with a lot of individuals in their homes who could have STD's and whereas I try to remain clean, at times I am concerned that I may inadvertently contract some kind of STD because of contact with them and their households and then contact with myself. I just had a test last year that found nothing and am planning to get one again and even though I don't ever really have any symptoms of any STDs, aside from chaffing from regular masturbation, I was wondering what the likelihood of contact with a disease during the course of a day and then contact with myself at night would be.

If you're a home care giver your highest chance of getting an infectious disease would be from getting stabbed by a needle or coming into contact with the person's blood. If you bath someone regularly, there could be a small (and I mean very small) possibility of getting an STD, but you should be wearing gloves during this. As long as you're practicing good hygiene and be wary of needles, blood, and bodily fluids you should be fine. Honestly you have a lower chance of getting infected than a nurse at a hospital does and my grandma has been a nurse for over 40 years.. she's only had 2 AIDs/ Hepatitis scares during this  time and she administers shots, takes blood, and deals with a lot of bodily fluids on a regular basis.

By all means get another test done, but keep in mind that unless you develop a symptom of a STD or come into direct contact with bodily fluids you really have no reason to be worried.
