hello i have this lump above my vagina and at first it's just a little bump now it's red and looks like a boil. i think it showed up sometime after I shave. I usually shave before I get my period. Could the lump result from the shaving? how could i get rid of it? it's starting to like swell and it's a bit stingy when touched. HELP ME PLEASE!

No problem...glad to help. Just make sure that if you feel the problem is a sign of a more serious condition you should never hesitate to see your primary care physician. Also, always shave with not against the direction of hair growth....this will help prevent future ingrown hair problems.....here a link to a good site that offers some more detailed advice:http://www.medicinenet.com/ingrown_hair/page3.htm

Hmm...it could be an ingrown hair by the sound of your discription...take a good look at the lump and see if you can see a hair growing beneath the skin...if so, you can try this:

•Carefully use a sterile needle and alcohol wipe to dislodge stubborn ingrown hairs or use tweezers to gently tease the hair out of the skin. However, this is usually not recommended in that these procedures may be too aggressive and cause further damage to the skin.

It might sound painful, but if its a hair that's growing beneath the lump it could alleviate the pain almost right away....once removed make sure to apply alcohol or peroxide to disinfect the area...
