Red bump on my penis

Hello everyone this past week I noticed a bright red pimple-ish looking thing growing on the shaft of my penis. I've never had sex or anything like that and I am really concerned.I usually masturbate every other day. Please help.
Thanks in advance.

A couple ways to get rid of ingrown hairs, but in this area this might be painful. The best thing to do might be to wait and let the hair grow out on its own, which it will eventually do. Other way:
Exfoliate the area
Apply a dab of acne medication
Wait a few days
Apply a warm, moist compress to the area for a few minutes to soften the skin
Use a sterile needle, tweezers or a rotable medical device for ingrown hairs to gently tease the hair out of the skin
Wash the area around the (formerly) ingrown hair with warm water and a moisturizing soap

Yikes! I know. So give it a bit, try the first two steps, and see what happens. Good luck.

Thanks I think it might be an ingrown hair, if you wouldn't mind could you tell me a little bit more about that and how to get rid of it if you know? I think I will just take it easy this week and see what happens and if it worsens go to the doctor.

Could be a couple of things I have in mind, but the main thing is if you are trully concerned and want a for sure answer, go see your doctor for a physical exam. First, since you do masterbate a lot, every other day, it could be an irritation do to that, or a change in clothing/sooap/etc. Second, it could be a small cyst which some people are prone to. If it is far down on the shaft, it could even be an ingrown hair. You could chose to sit and observe for a few days, use mild soaps, avoid tight clothes, mild detergents, no lotions, and lay off the masterbation, or consult a doctor if you feel that''d ease you mind. Good luck!
