Vaginal Blisters! Is It Friction Blisters?

I have been with my bf for 6 months now.last week we had sex and i think i was dry. It was painful and felt like tearing to my vagina. I immediately told him to stop. It is very painful and stings when i urinate. I can not stand the pain at all. Now i have blister like things on my inner lip on my vagina. these blisters and pain started since this last time we had sex. I also started getting "flu-like" symptoms like fever and headaches that dont seem to go away. I am also on my period and dont know if that will cause these blisters to get infected or something. I went today to get tested for any STD's but wont have the results until next week. Alot of thoughts have been going threw my mind and need help to figure out what these blisters are and how to cure them?

I had sex for the first time in January with my current boyfriend who has never been with anyone else. I had the same problem where when we stopped using condoms (because I'm on Nexplanon) and I was not wet enough and I ended up getting blisters. It was insanely painful when i peed and just in general. My doctor did a swab test and a couple blood tests for herpes, chlamydia, and gonhherea and all tests can back negative. My doctor believes it was just from friction and the blisters went away in a week with no sex and using cortisone cream 2-3 times a day.

I'm not sure if anyone will get this post or reply but I need some advise....

I have been with my partner for 11 yrs and we have a 7 month old boy. I've never cheated on my boyfriend and if confidently say he hasn't cheated on me however I had thrush the other week, I'm certain it was from a shower gel I used, which gave me thrush yrs ago. Anyway I was on my period and didn't think about the oral tablet so I left it a week before getting anything for the thrush. In the meantime I had sex with my partner and one night woke myself up grabbing the outside of my knickers and rubbing my sanitary towel against myself because if the itch I had from the thrush. Once that cleared up with a tablet I thought I had a urine infection, this was 6 days after the thrush had first come about, and about 3 days after the scratching in the night. It was stinging so much but didn't feel like cystitis so I had a feel and just under my clitorous I could feel a small though but of skin. I looked in the mirror and it looked ever so slightly linker than the rest of that area. I went to the doctors and before I told her ask of this history she had a look and said it's an ulcer and that it's herpes. Once I told her the history she said it wasn't and I'd aggravated myself but I was so upset and scared that maybe I've been carrying this with no breakouts since before my current boyfriend which would be 11 and a half yrs. Is that possible?.

I then went to have a test anyway and I've got to wait 2 weeks maybe more!!! the doctor I saw there said it could be herpes, it could be from friction..
It's still very painful when I wee so it's been about 4 days now. Reading up on herpes it soundslike this painful part doesn't last this long but my pain saids the same as someone with herpes. I just feel so nervous and scared.if it's herpes my relationship will be over and I just can't wait 2 weeks. Has anyone had a similar thing?

Thank you so much for posting this.  I have exactly what you describe.  I have only had one sexual partner other than the guy I am currently seeing.  I got tested after the first guy and everything was good.  I trust the guy I am with (he had a recent STD test and said it was all clear) but was starting to worry.  It has been difficult to find non-herpes related descriptions or pictures for vaginal blisters.  I know what genitals herpes looks like, and have read enough about what it feels like to know for certain that this isn't herpes.  This is the first description I have come across that matches what I have going on.

I just wanted to share my experience.  I also had 'dry' sex, while using a condom.   I noticed some discomfort and pain the next day, but didn't have a 'look' for a few days.  Then saw a huge blister - looked like a blood blister, on my vaginal lip.  It was very painful, esp when wiping after peeing.  I called the nurse line for my insurance, but they said I would need to have a dr look at it to give me a diagnosis or treatment.  I was 100% sure it was from dry sex, but it still freaked me out.  Anyway, I  left it for a few days.  And unfortunately, I was also having my period.  Anyway, five days later, the blister is gone, and I have no more pain.  I wasn't aware I could get a blister from sex (and i don't mean herpes), so I am posting this in case anyone has the same experience as me.  Due to my circumstances, monogamous relationship, always use condom for birth control, I knew it wasn't an STD/STI.  I also looked at pictures of herpes, just to make sure.  I only had one giant blister.  Not a cluster, and they do seem to have a distinctive look.  If in doubt, see your doctor for treatment.  But if you had a situation like mine, it is more than likely a friction blister, and will go away on it's own. I didn't do anything to treat it, though I did use moist wipes, as they were softer.   I took Advil at night, and worse loose clothing.  Also, as I was having my period, I only used pads, as I was concerned tampons would further aggravate the blister.

I really hope it is just friction, but better safe than sorry.  I have never seen a herpes infection in person, and I obviously can't see what your privates look like right now.  A quick google search of herpes symptoms sounded like your description, (especially sores that hurt when peeing + flu-like symptoms).  Your ob/gyn should be able to tell.  Either way, by the time you see this, you'll probably have better word from your ob/gyn.

When i went, i only went for the blood test.later on today i have an appointment with my OB/GYN doctor. I am pretty positive that i was dry so im just hoping  that its friction blisters and that these headaches are from stressing over this problem or allergies. I am very scared to get those results back. I read that herpes blisters are usually red and swollen around the blister. These blisters arent red, they just hurt when i Wipe after urinating or durinv urination. But after my appointment i will give an update of what the doctor has to say.

Did the test include a swab for herpes?  If you don't know, call the people doing the test and ask, because the only surefire way to know if you have it is to get it swabbed while you're having an outbreak.  And initial herpes infections are supposed to be horrible.  Hopefully it isn't, but you need to get it checked before the sores go away.  There's a blood test, but it won't tell you a straight "yes" or "no" like a swab test will.  Did they even examine you?  Were you blistered at the time?  If not, you should go back and make them have a look.

Your boyfriend wouldn't have had to have any visible symptoms to spread herpes to you.  If he has any lesions, he should get tested, and maybe get the blood test (although they might not want to do that, since it doesn't necessarily tell you much).

As for treating the sores, WebMD recommends warm salt soaks (1/2 teaspoon salt per 1/2 pint water), painkillers like aspirin or tylenol (advil would probably work too), wearing loose clothing (break out the granny panties and skirts), using an ice pack wrapped in a towel on the area, and getting lots of rest.  And until you can confirm that it's not herpes, don't have sex with anyone while you have any sores or can feel the remains of them.  Wash your hands well after touching the area too, because if it is herpes, you can get infected in other places too (cold sores are a herpes infection of the mouth).

Again, hopefully it's something benign, but you really need to make sure they swab it and check it.
