Vaginal odor

I'm so glad I found this website. I've been dealing with this problem for about 6 months now. I've been sexually active with more than 1 person and the guy I'm with now I've been with for over a year. He's been tested for STDs recently and came back negative so I don't think that is my problem. He recently started not being intimate with me and informed me that I do have a smell down there. I was aware of it before but I wasn't sure if anyone else could smell it. It's a very fishy smell and gets really bad right before and right after my period. I've always been a very clean person but I can't find anything to help. I have a white colored discharge that is sometimes watery but sometimes thick like cottage cheese almost.. After reading I believe it might be a yeast infection or bv. I read that bv can also cause pain during intercourse which is what I experience also. I've only used a tampon like maybe 5 times so I don't believe that's my problem. Anyone out there have any suggestions? I dont have insurance right now so its hard to get to a doctor. And could a regular doctor help me with this? Like at a health department. Or just an obgyn?
Thanks.

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? Hydroxycut had the same effect on me and many years later, I am still suffering from a very unpleasant vaginal odor. Please share any remedies that have worked for you. All STI/STD tests are negative.

Yeah I've tried changing my diet and sometimes it helps. It just depends.. Certain days it will be really bad and certain days it won't. Mostly before and after my period. I can tell when it's getting close by how bad it smells. And for about a week afterwards is just unbearable.. I plan on trying to get to a doctor within the next week so try and pin point what it is, just in case it's something serious. And the itching part? It does every once in a while but not all the time. After intercourse it does and that's mainly when it itches. I've been reading about bv and that sounds like my problem. And thanks about telling me if it's a yeast infection he needs to clean it up on his end too so it won't be reoccurring.

Also what I noticed is this started getting worse when I started taking diet pills.. Idk of that really had anything to do with it but it could be a possibilty that some of the ingredients in it caused something to go wrong?

I would get tested for STD for yourself as well, but also for BV and Yeast you could have both or one.

If you have a hard time getting into a doctor I would try out yeast cream which is called canestan and take the 7 day one.  If you have no improvement after that, then its most likely not a yeast infection and you will have to go into see a doctor because you need an antibiotic for the BV.

Also if you have a yeast infection he needs to use the cream on himself as well before you go back to having sex because he will just pass it back to you.

Is it itchy?

I hear ya girl! I have the same problem from time to time, it goes away just give it some rest if you know what I mean! Actually I dont mind it much, cause when my man asks for some head I just say "me first baby" and if Im stinkin he is outta there! Try eating less red meat, that might help.
