i am 13 andmy labia minora has turned black,is it a reason to worry?? i have'nt told my mom about this

Hi there,
All women have enormous variation in color, size, shape and texture of the labia minora.As you grow up it is very common for your cells to darken. This darkening is occurring due to hormonal changes in your body. Use of OC pills may lead to darkening of the genitals. Pregnancy ,conditions like PCOD and acanthosis nigrans can lead to darkening of the labia minora.In acanthosis nigrans there is dark, velvety skin with visible creases in the armpits, genitals groin and neck folds, and over the joints of the fingers .It is best to consult a gynecologist and seek reassurance.
