confusing

Hi,
Long time i don't have sex with my wife because i'm working in abroad,I saw this "metronidazole miconazole" to my wife i don't know what is this and she is using this one what can be the effect with me if i sex with him there is possible infection for me even i used him for only once.hope you can help me.

Hi, are you saying that your wife has been taking metronidazole?  It is commonly used for an infection known as gardnerella or BV (bacterial vaginosis), which can cause the vagina to get a bad smell and is very irritating to the woman.  It is not an STD in that a women can get BV from other sources (it's a bacteria), but often the doctor treating the woman will tell her husband to also take the same treatment at the same time, in order not to pass the bacteria right back to her once she no longer has it.  Don't worry about having sex if she is on this medication.  In fact, there is some argument that you should be on it also.
