dry cracking skin, on penis

I am 19, and un sure about what this is. I have had this problem a few times before, but took nothing from it.. but it is serious. the skin is very dry around the foreskin area i think its called right underneath the head of the penis. and only that area is itchy and dry. no where else on the penis. everytime i get an erection, the skin begins to crack, and looks like stretch mark, but my penis has not gotten bigger it had seem to have gotten even smaller. just having the thought behind my mind that it hurts like hell prevents me from having sex.. it is a serious problem.. i cant have sex with my girlfriend, the urge of masterbating was lost, and it still is very very very very itchy... and dry.. im not sure what this is. at first glanse i looked into this and i thought it was an Yeast Infection, and told i should use conestan, and other ointments. i have not used it because others are unsure of what to make of this. so doctor what do you think?
-thanks

you can use a cream called Asorbase.  it's gentle enough to use on ur glans penis and under the foreskin with out causing an infection.  i don't remember if i needed a perscription for it or not, but i'm sure you can google it to find out.  its not very expensive and it works well for situations like this.  you can just apply it where the skin is dry, or you can use it to masterbate with to ensure the the cream is fully absorbed.

good luck.

The area that's dry is called the frenulum. It's a small piece of skin that is attached to the head of your penis. The frenulum can be broken by masturbation or other vigorus activity. It is similar to any other cut you, so you should take measures to prevent infection. Place a bandage over it and apply Vaseline or Neosporin (I recommend Neosporin). Neosporin will rebuild the tissue and stop it from cracking. Do not have sex until it completely heals or you'll break it again. After it heals, apply lotion to the area to make sure the skin stays moist and doesn't dry out.
