lump at pubic area

I'm 18 and a while ago I found a pimple (looked like a zit) on my pubic area so I decided to squeeze it. A few days(I think) later there was a lump. It was really painful but then I soon forgot about it altogether after the pain stopped. Recently I noticed that the lump is still there but bigger and a little tender. Its in the same spot the pimple was in. I don't know what it is. This lump is tender and a little hard-ish As well as under the skin. I don't want to go to the doctor as I feel scared it might be something silly.

Please PLEASE help!!

well, if you shave it could just be an infected hair follicle. they can get pretty festered and look like something awful sometimes. i had one that i was sure was an std, or cancer or something (slight hypochondriac lol) so i went to my gyno terrified that i was terminally ill or had a disease and he told me it was just a really infected hair lol. but, yours could be anything from that to allergies, incect bite, ect. it's always best to have a dr take a looki, better safe than sorry
