pregnant?

Ok, so I just started taking birth control as a  Sunday starter, my birth control says I am protected after a week of taking the pills, however I have been taking them everyday and yesterday (being my 6th day on the pill) and today being my 7th day on the pill had intercourse and my boyfriend did ejaculate in me i feel so dumb and stupid I didnt keep better track of how many days I had been taking it but if you could let me know ASAP the chances of me being pregnant that would be great, thanks =]

your not protected a week after starting birth control. you did not even complete a whole pack! you have to wait a few months.

even if you have been using birth control for years its not 100% and you should use condoms.

you have a chance of being pregnant and wait and take a test

It does not take months to be protected by birth control pills.  The seven days till you are protected is correct.  The same applies if you miss a pill.

The chances of you being pregnant are much lower than if you hadn't been taking any contraceptives at all.

No contraceptive method is 100% (well maybe full hysterectomy).  There is always a risk you might get pregnant if you have sex.

the pill isn't 100% and i was always told with the pill it takes at least a month for them to do the job right (and was told that again when i was on the pill before i got my mirena just 6 short months ago) and to use another form of b/c i.e condoms for AT LEAST 4-6 weeks otherwise it was possible to end up pregnant. so your best bet is to wait 2 weeks and take an hpt. and start using condoms as well.

birth control does not work right away. they arent even in your system that long. and even when it is working...it never fully works.

you just have to take a pregnancy test

your 16. you should especially especially be using condoms. your young and have you whole life a head of you to not care if you get pregnant. you said you still knew the risk of getting pregnant and thats ok. its not at a young age. start using condoms in addition to birth control its good to have backup

I hate to be there bearer of bad news but birth control has to build up in your system and you will not be protected until about a month or two after you start the pack depending on the dose. If it is a low dose of horomones then I would take a pregnancy test. Remember the test wont be able to detect the pregnancy horomone until three to four weeks after you have become pregnant so if you take one now and it read negative it could be wrong The best way to find out is to go get a blood test done in about three weeks at your doctor's if you honesty can't wait and take that risk then ask your doctor for Plan B the emergency contraceptive and you a condom from now on or at least for a few months until the birth conrtol build up in your system. I was in your situation and I ended up getting pregnant at the age of 19. Babie are a lot of work and money so sex should always be taken seriously. Plus without condoms you are risking many STD's. Good luck and keep us posted.
