vaginal dryness

I am a 56 y/o woman and in menopause. haven't had a period for over a year. When ever I try to have sex with my husband we both end up with actual cuts. We have tried a variety of lubricants- to no avail. I would like to continue our sexual relationship but this is painful for both of us. Any suggestions?

Try using a jelly lubricant. I find it sticks better and you don't have to keep re-applying it. Wal-Mart has their Equate brand, and their lubricant "Equate Personal Lubrication Jelly" works really well.
Foreplay might help, too. It will help your natural vaginal lubrication get going, and possibly make sex a little bit more pleasurable.
