About to get merriage

by erharshit, Jul 02, 2007 12:00AM
Dear Doctor

i am in sex relationship with my girlfrnd from almost 2 years. We are not using the Condoms even. Now because of several personal reasons this can  not be converted in a merriage life.

I am about to get merry an another girl in few months time. After this I will never go in sex relation with my previous girl frnd.

What should be safe period that I should mentain for sex with my wife after merriage so that there would not be any chance of HIV.

Thanks

There is no specific time. Go to a doctor and get a blood test. The doctor can tell you if there is any antibodies in your blood that show exposure to a disease, for example, hiv, herpes etc.  If there is no trace of you having had the diseases and the doctor says you do not have them now- THEN you are safe ( or as safe as science can pronounce at this time)

To protect your new wife- you really MUST go to a doctor and get these tests.  Herpes for example, if there, can remain in your system for a lifetime-- so there is no amount of time that makes it safe for your wife.  What will make it safe- is a real examination and a clean bill of health from a reputable doctor who examines you carefully.

Ignoring the weirdness here, just get tested. No doubt you are fine, but that would be the way to know for sure.
