Can sperm go through clothes?

by redsox99, Sep 18, 2009 12:59PM
What if a little of the pre and a little sperm gets on a girls' sweatpants and a little of the pre on the top end of her underwear? Is it possible to get pregnant?

Hi

First, it's important to know that not only does semen contain sperm, but the fluid that men secrete PRIOR to orgasm, can also contain millions of sperm.

Anytime you expose yourself to semen, you are running the risk of contracting infections, diseases, herpes, warts, etc.

No one can tell you whether you're pregnant just from a description of the activity, so, while it's rare for someone to become pregnant without having semen directly deposited into the vagina, it HAS happened. If you're concerned, I suggest you go to your nearest teen clinic or Planned Parenthood for a test. And while you're at it, you need to educate yourself regarding the various risk reduction options and choose the one that you feel will work best for you.

Here are the three steps involved in becoming pregnant:

1. Around 14 days prior to your period, your ovary releases a viable egg into your Fallopian tube, and it is penetrated by a viable sperm. It's now a two-celled organism called a "zygote."
2. The zygote begins to segment, become four cells, then eight cells, etc. As it grows, it travels down the tube towards the uterus. It is now called a "blastocyst."
3. After several days, if all goes well, the multi-celled blastocyst reaches the uterus and implants into the wall, which begins to nourish it.

Voila! You're now officially pregnant.

It takes all three of these steps to create a pregnancy. Realize that there may be many times that steps 1 or 2 happen, but don't come to fruition. This is because not every egg and sperm contain viable genetic material. It's actually quite rare for a fertilized egg to make it all the way to implantation.
