slight discomfort/pain during ejaculaiton

by omazab, Jul 14, 2009 12:07PM
Im not soo stressed out about my situation... I just want to know if it is normal to feel discomfort during ejaculation (should I see my doctor?). In my case pleasure increases up until ejaculation, then I just feel pain if something rubs against my penis. I will feel pain for about 45 seconds afterwords but only if something rubs against it. Is this the normal way things happen? shouldn't ejaculation be the most pleasurable time in sex?
Am I missing out on what an orgasm is supposed to be?

Thank you

Hello.

What you describe could be due to your own expectations of how ejaculation SHOULD feel. Some men expect to feel a certain way, and when that doesn't happen, they interpret it as something being wrong. Also: after orgasm, many men experience a heightened sensitivity to touch; some penises can even become quite ticklish. This is very individual, and everyone is different, but it's not an indication of anything amiss.

Since I'm not a urologist and I can't examine you, I can't tell you whether you have any medical condition that needs treatment. So the answer is, yes, you should see a urologist immediately to diagnose your symptoms. Dr. J

Is the orgasm supposed to be during ejaculation or just before or is everyone different.

Thank you so much you have made me feel good and given me confidence.

Hello.

Good question! Actually, everyone experiences orgasm differently in terms of how it feels. Most men experience the feeling of orgasm and ejaculation simultaneously; however, some men may actually experience the orgasmic contractions as separate from ejaculation, and vice versa

Laboratory research has shown that orgasm/ejaculation occurs in two stages. Here's a simplified explanation of what happens: In the first stage, sperm move up to the prostate area. That's when you experience what I call the "point of no return." You know that you're going to ejaculate unless you stop stimulation immediately. In the second stage, sperm mixes with fluids from the prostate and then is ejaculated down the urethra and out of the body.

If you pay close attention, you can feel the beginnings of orgasm in the first stage; however, most men identify their "orgasm" as happening during ejaculation, and some have even learned how to experience the orgasm without ejaculating.

What's important is that you understand that there's not a "right way" to orgasm. Whatever you feel, is right for you. Hope this clears up some of the mystery. Dr. J

I'm glad this subject....or at least your last reply, came up. I'm not sure I have EVER orgasmed.  Sure, most of the time during sex I used to ejaculate but I don't know if I had orgasms. Even when I masturbate it is no big deal. Is it possible to ejaculate without orgasm? Please say yes because if what I usually feel when ejaculating is an orgasm....it sure is over rated and NOTHING compared to the orgasms my lady partners seem to experience.
