splitting of the vagina after sex

by shellymoo, Sep 21, 2009 01:24PM
Im 25 years old and have had 2 children with both of the labours I had to have episitomies. For about 2 years now during intercourse my scar tissue area (perineum i think) splits. It burns a lot afterwards and takes about 7 days to heal. Me and my partner have tried using more lubricant and various different positions but this doesnt make a difference. Do you think that maybe my perineum was over stitched? I could really do with some advice on this as Im fed up of going to my GP all he does is snigger at me and tells me there is nothing wrong with me.
thank you

Dear Shelly:

Why are you seeing a GP for gynecological concerns? You need to see a gynecologist--preferably a woman who can empathize with you. Get yourself to your nearest women's clinic or Planned Parenthood for an exam. You shouldn't be tearing and in pain--these are signs that something is amiss. Best of luck to you. Dr. J
