Hi,
How is your son? Nasal polyps are the result of swelling/inflammation  in the nose or sinuses. Risk factors include conditions that results in chronic inflammation of the nasal passages, allergic conditions, asthma, rhinitis,  and even genetics. Presence of allergy may indeed be a factor in triggering the symptoms. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and best regards.
