Bite or something worse?

I woke up about a week ago to a patch of skin on my ring finger being red and slightly swollen. I didn't think much of it, but when I got in the shower it burned a bit at first when the water hit it. I noticed it hurt a bit when I pressed on the area, but for the most part I ignored it. A day or two later I noticed small bumps in the center, that looked clear/red and slightly raised (see photo). They seemed to be in a cluster, not individual round bumps. I put some aloe vera on it a few times at that point. A few days ago the bumps seemed to have burst (seemingly under the skin) as now the area is flat and the bumps are darker red and the skin there feels a bit rough. However the skin around it that was originally swollen, is no longer swollen but discolored. The skin appears pink and it has a pretty well defined border (as opposed to an even fade to the unaffected skin). It hasn't grown in size at all however.

I should also note, that 2 days prior to this I had returned from a short trip to the beach (3 days total). I don't recall getting bit on my hand while there, or the night before waking up to this.
