Flat black mole growing

HI I am a 25 year old male, I have a flat black mole on my left butt cheek that I have had since I was about 6 years old. I recently did a self skin check and noticed that it has gotten a little wider and it now has a dark red ring around it. Is this something I should get checked out? Because I would like to not "drop trou" in the doctors office for no good reason.

Get it checked. Its probably nothing. If it makes your feel any better, i am not much older than you and moles i have had since child hood do have multiple colors in them. I get checked regularly, and one those mole the new doc said "let's watch that one". Scares the bejezus out of me, and while i think its nothing, i'm still happy that i'll know before it becomes a problem.
