I have a mole 6-7mm diameter, round, was oozing about 2yrs ago, no changes since then, then, redness around it, I will undergo dermatoscopy. I'm concerned.

I have a mole 6-7mm in diameter, brown, round, with slightly darker spot in it, maybe a milimeter or more elevated. It's been such since I know myself. Few years ago it was oozing, but I didnt know it was relevant! :( It happened only once. There were no changes since then, in color, size, border or elevation, or the spot inside it.. Some 25 days ago I noticed it's border became red, as if irritated, on one side, and I went to dermatologist - several days ago. In several days I will undergo dermatoscopy. In the meantime, I have been told to use once daily, 3% boric acid and 1% chloramphenicol ointment on it for 10 days. There is no more redness around the mole, it reapearred today but vanished, it was hot and I was sweating a lot I assume. But I havent told dermatologist that same mole was oozing few years ago during checkup, because I was ignorant! I will mention that to him, when I go to dermatoscopy, but I'm concerned.

How serious it can be?

Thanks for the answer.

Keep your appointment but try not to worry too much. Is it in a place where it would be irritated? It sounds like it might be in an annoying place that gets rubbed.

Take care.
