Just had shave biopsy and the shave site is blue

I'm 41, fair hair blue eyes.  Derm just biopsied two spots - one is a mole previous derms had said was nothing but she said might as well check.  2nd spot was on my leg, red, smaller than pencil eraser and flat.  I think it just showed up a month ago.  That night I looked at the shaved area from the red spot and it was blue inside.  I've always had pink/shiny spots where things have been shaved - what does blue mean? It has totally scared me.  She never even said what she thought it was, just "oh yeah - that's coming off."  My questions are why would it be blue, and what could she have thought it was?
