Lump In Eyelid

by yifanzhu, Dec 25, 2008 02:12AM
I am fifteen and for the past year, I have felt a small lump in my eyelid. The lump is actually within the eyelid and I'm afraid it might be cancerous. It doesn't cause any pain and it isn't noticeable, what could this possibly be? I do have a lot of acne so could this be due to an overactive oil gland?

I'm not a Doctor, but these are usually benign and are like a sebacious cyst inside the eyelid itself.  My son had them . .but his were on the inside of the rim and called a granuloma and/or pyogenic granuloma.  They can occur on the lid as you describe, too.  Lots of warm compresses can help, but do ask your Dr.
