Should I be worried?

by therese0305, Oct 17, 2008 11:43AM
Hi, I saw a dermatologist two days ago for one thing and she ended up taking off two suspicous moles. I have had things removed before and they were "precancerous". That was several years ago though. I wasn't worried until my husband asked if that could be why my lymph nodes are swollen. The lymph nodes in my neck and groin have been swollen since July. My GP isn't sure why-I saw her about them at the beginning of Sept. She put me on 1200mg of motrin/ibuprofen a day and said the swelling will go down(it hasn't yet). Could my lymph nodes be swollen because the moles that the dermatologist took off were bad? I didn't say anything to the dermatologist about my lymph nodes because I didn't even think about it and her office is closed today. I know that they will call me with the results next week but I am worried. I tried to ak my GP but her nurse said that the dermatologist would call me. I just want to know if I should be worried or if I am just being paranoid. Please help!!!!

Hi .. I don't know either, but wanted to stop by and say hello.  You can call during the week and tell them it's getting to you and you really would like to get the biopsy results.  Usually that has worked for me vs. waiting for them to call or the latest thing that now they "only call" if it shows up with something needing further attention.

Were the moles near your lymph nodes or distant?

Hi, Thanks for your response. Yes, the lymph nodes in my neck are right by the spot that the doctor took off. I should have thought about that when I was at the doctor-then I wouldn't be worried now. Oh well though!! There is nothing I can do about it now so I might as well have a good weekend with my boys!! Thanks again for your response!
