irregular mole, cancerous?

by olilaurie, Oct 05, 2009 01:54PM
i have a mole on my chest.. it is irregular shaped, brown in the center with a tan colour around it. i`ve had it for a long time & it has never changed. i asked my doctor to look at it, & he just took a quick glance & told me just to watch if it changed colour or anything. it looks like other cancerous moles, but my doctor didn`t feel the need for a biopsy on it... should i be worried? or should i just go with what my doctor says & wait & see?... i use to pick it when i was little... could that cause it to become cancerous, or just mis-shapen?

Yes go with what your doctor says. Lots of moles have some of the characteristics of dangerous moles but are fine and your doctor has seen many many examples in the past.
Do keep an eye on it for changes though (only look at it once per month).

Take care.
