sqamous cell reaccurance

I had a 2 mm or cm active cell tumor removed on 02/06/2010 from from left jaw area. Recently I've noticed an abnormilty at the top of the excersiced area as a raised bruising type of lesion. My biopsy done on 09/16/2010 has come back positive sqamous cell. I'm fair skined and obviously the sun damage is taken it's toll from working outside all my life. The pathology breport from the tumor removal showed the site to be totally excersised, but I must have under lying damage or invasion of other tissue types. I'm 52 years old and have worked all my life from age 14, can I apply for SS disability benefits as a health issue measure as well as a preventative and attempt to prolong my life?
