It's okay to be scared but try to take a deep breath.   From what I'm readng on both of your notes and what I know about melanoma based on nothing more than my own personal experience, neither of you are likely to have the disease.   Ask yourself some basic questions.   Are your freckles/mole changing in their appearance?   Do you have a history of bad sun burns, particularly as a child?   Is there a genetic component to fear?   As common as melanoma is, it is still the rarest of all skin cancers.

Having said that, in my opinion, Pum has a point.   We will try to help but I'm willing to bet most of us don't read the posts here daily and most that do, usually scan them for something we can relate to.   A post about a mole changing it's appearance is probably going to get a response a little bit faster than other notes because many of us here are melanoma survivors and that is usually the number one sympton of the disease.   Maybe it's a good sign that you both didn't quickly get responses.

I HATE seeing doctors and on each visit, my bp soars but I don't hesitate to call when I have something that worries me.   The not knowing is much harder than any disease.  Despite all the times I've freaked out over something wrong, only once was my fear warranted and because that was a changing mole which turned out to be a very early melanoma, that call saved my life.    Call your doctors so your minds can be put at ease.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get a nice glass of red wine.   I've heard it's good for my heart.  :o)

hi, i know this isn't a doctor forum. but i've posted in other forums(depression/anxiety) where non doctor people will answer just as you have..with a few reassuring words or some advice..or opinions or anything! i'm sorry if i seem a bit impatient. but i'd be nice to hear what people think. that's what this forum is for right? i'm just looking for SOME answer. anything. like telling me not to be afraid to go to the doctor. that is what i need to hear. or to hear people who have gone through the same things and feelings..
thanks.

This isn't a doctor forum. The people on here are just giving their opinions, using their own personal time. Not sure who you are expecting to hear from.

Some of us are in different timezones too.

Take care.
