breathing through nose

Hello: I have sleep apnea. I am waiting for a capa which i have ordered. This is a serious question about breathing. I have always noticed i gather a lot of dirt in my nose ( a polite way of putting it) which i have to remove in private.I think it might cause breathing  problems through the nose.  What causes for access dirt to gather in the nose and is there away to prevent it? thank you

Thank you for all your help. It is not dark coloured and sometimes it moist and sometimes dry. Is it posible that some people geneticaly have more hairs in their nose to gather more dirt? I sometimes wake up with one nostril plugged , that is why i ordered a full face mask. can you you recommend a spray to help this?

Is it really dirt, or is it thick, dark colored mucous? If you're in a dust-laden environment, then naturally, the hairs in your nostrils will trap the dust. But if you have allergies or any other nasal condition that causes mucous production, then this needs to be addressed. If you have trouble breathing, see you doctor or an ENT physician, who should be able to help you. Being able to breathe well through your nose is important if you want CPAP to work well.
