waking up several times

Hello.  My brother wakes up several times during his sleep with a feeling of wanting to vomit, but what he actually feels is that he can't breathe.  Sometimes this is followed by a seizure.  He has epilepsy now for at least 6 years and is taking the generic for Keppra twice a day. Someone told my mom it could be acid reflux, but I don't think that is true.  Maybe it is sleep apnea.  Any help?   Thanks.

It's hard to say from what you've told me. However, it's certainly possible. Did you ever run it by his neurologist?
