CPAP, Sleep Apnea with redness all over body

by shiloh13, Nov 02, 2009 02:43PM
I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea. My Dr. said he had not seen such high readings in quite some time. My oxygen levels dropped several times throughout the study to 75 and lower and stayed for over an hour. I had trouble hen I first got my CPAP machine because of the wrong fitting mask. I received a new mask that fits much better and my sleeping has improved. I have been waking up since getting the new mask with my entire body looking red like a total body rash but it does not itch or cause any discomfort. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Could it be because I am getting more oxygen?

It could be due to the relative change in your sleep-breathing status and oxygenation. Give it some time. If it doesn't go away, then talk to your sleep doctor.
