In any case, if there is any doubt, it seems prudent to be sure there are no lung problems going on. What if you were to lay on the bed in the same position without a pillow? Still a problem? And are you talking about laying on your back or side? And is weight an issue? It would seem that one could have the symptoms while lying on the back on the floor but not in the bed. The floor does not give like the bed would to the weight of the lower body, so on the floor the upper body could be lower than the lower body, thus increasing pressurePressure ulcer in the chest. Beds are designed to contour to varying degress to the body to keep the body more level. I'm just doing a whole lot of thinking out loud.
