CPAP cause pneumonia or bronchitis?

can water from CPAP get in lungs and cause pneumonia?
Avatar_dr_f_tn
Hello and hope you are doing well.

The water is just to humidify the air, so it is unlikely for it to get into the lungs. But sometimes the tubing and filters may causes infections and they need to be cleaned at periodic intervals. It could trigger allergic episodes also.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
