Choking in sleep

I have a four year old daughter who has just recently started choking in her sleep and when I try to get her up its like shes still sleep and just stares at me. I am terrified and don't know what this is, its happened twice in one week. I thought it was night terrors because she doesn't remember anything in the morning. Has anyone ever heard of this? if so please let me know how to handle this.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Choking in sleep can happen with post nasal discharge, as a result of sinusitis or rhinorrhea. It can also occur due to enlarged adenoids or tonsils. Choking may not occur as a consequence to night terrors. Also, she is unlikely to remember the episodes that happen at night, unless she is fully awake. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.

Hope This Helped and Do Keep Us Posted.
