Hello everyone! I'm happy to be on the forum and hoping my first post will be a good one. First the problem, then a little about me, to reflect.
Issue: I haven't gotten a "good night's rest" in years. I can fall asleep easily and quickly. However, I wake up every night, multiple times. At night I wake up less (than average), I still don't wake up feeling refreshed. I also don't stretch when I wake up. It feels as if my battery has been running on fumes for years, my eyes have had dark rings underneath them since I was a child and my parents always found that strange (though I remember sleeping well as a child).
About me (Sort of a health nut): I'm 22, Male, single, no smoke/drinking/drugs, 170lbs, 6' tall, exercise regularly (4-5 times/week), drink plenty of water, eat healthy (I'm usually on a protein diet as of recent), I'm in college (first of my family) though school has never been very challenging. I'm usually perky, optimistic, driven. I sleep mostly on my side, barely snore, no family history of sleep issues.
Stresses: Rough childhood - father died when I was 14, parents divorced young, parents were substance abusers. Love life is less than enjoyable but stay optimistic. I've sought counseling for these issues; not that I have much of a problem with these things, personally they've always pushed me to be a better person.
Long story short: I feel healthy, live healthy, stop to smell the roses. I just don't sleep very well. I would like to remember the feeling of getting a good night's sleep.
