Hormones and insomnia

Is there any effect that hormones may have on sleep patterns at times of high levels or low levels?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Hormones do have an effect on sleep cycles. Women's sleep varies with menstrual cycles and also as they reach menopause, ovaries slowly decrease their production of two hormones, estrogen and progesterone, the latter of which promotes sleep. Thyroid hormones too affect sleep.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Being a thyroid patient, I have personally experienced insomnia from thyroid meds being too high a dose for me.  You may want to talk with your doctor about this concern ... it's a good place to start to feel better
